About Nick Sumner
Texas-born singer-songwriter, Nick Sumner, hit the New York City music scene as vocalist and guitar-slinging frontman for a hard-hitting rock trio who, in 2012, were part of SXSW, the first annual CBGB Music & Film Festival, and shared the stage with Slash with Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
In 2014, Nick has had the honor of being part of SXSW as a solo act, been a featured performer across New York City, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, and was a part of the 2014 CMJ Music Marathon.
Part of what makes his shows an experience, more than simply a regurgitation of sound, is his ability to take the audience with him to the places that inspire the music with haunting his lyrics and graceful melodies. His intimate performances elicit energy from the audiences that he feeds off of, making every moment of every show unique.
Nick’s self-titled EP, released in early 2014, contains two originals and his take on the R.E.M. classic The One I Love, infused with the emotional flavoring that captivates his audiences. Currently, he is in the preproduction for a full-length release tentatively scheduled for Spring 2015 with a national tour to follow.
